About Me

Laura holds a BA in Classics, an MA in Chinese Studies, and an MA in Latin American Studies. She recently completed her PhD in Modern Languages and Cultural Studies at the University of Alberta, where she teaches Spanish and Latin American culture courses. Laura also works as a Learning Design and Technology Specialist, helping instructors integrate educational technology into their classrooms.

She has contributed to the development of blended curricula for 100- and 200-level Spanish courses at the UofA, and has worked as an AI Spanish language specialist for one of the big five American tech companies.

In her free time, Laura enjoys exploring new technologies, languages, cinema, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and dancing to Latin rhythms like salsa, merengue, and bachata.
