Carlos Velázquez

Carlos was born in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Alberta (2001 - 2005). He worked for the National Cancer Institute (USA) from 2005 to 2008 and then came back to Canada in October 2008. Currently, Carlos holds an Associate Professor position at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Alberta, where he also works on a research program in medicinal chemistry.

 

Carlos joined the Edmonton Hispanic Bilingual Association back in 2003 and since then, he has taught a number of Spanish courses at different levels including Level 2, Level 5, and Level 4.

 

As the President of the Board, Carlos has consistently brought passion and dedication every single day.
